Where was a better place then to spend the holidays? No where other than right here at the manor. Despite it's current lacks, Kieran decided it would be the perfect place to set up a holiday gathering. And to make it even better, he would carefully select a location by the lake. Surely he could cook-up something here. Holidays were Kieran's favorite times of the year. Especially when Christmas came around. The previous day, Kieran had rushed to the store, in order to buy decorations. Bells, Ribbons. Ornaments. Presents. Lights. Pretty little stars he could have around the trees. Fake reindeer and a Santa. Perhaps he was a bit over the top with this, but it was all in good fun, right? To top it off, he managed to store the twenty bags and a few boxes he had in the two-door Lambo he owned. How awesome was he?
Now it was actually time to do the setting up - and boy was this going to take quite a long time, but that's why he was doing this all before-hand. He wanted everything to be perfect, or hoped it would be. He had no idea who was going to show up, but he certainly wished this wouldn't be a waste of his time. Regardless, his nose scrunched up as he drove down to the lake - certainly too lazy to carry all these things down there by himself. The tires of his car crunched against the ground as he took his time, admiring the gorgeous view. Kieran's foot pressed slowly down on the brake, halting the car from it's movements. Those small fingers curled around the handle of the door and propelled it open. Left foot first, then left, carried him out from the warmth of the car, but Kieran enjoyed the cold just as much. After an inhale of unneeded breath to cleanse those lungs, he turned to face the car and moved the driver's side seat forward. After a moment of inspection over the bags, Kieran began to pull them out. One by one. And what was worse, he had even more in the trunk of the car.
When all of the fifty-million things were out of the car, Kieran plucked up about half of the bags and dragged them farther down the path, to find the perfect spot. Snow crunched underneath Converse-clad feet, which made him think it wasn't a particularly good idea to indulge in these shoes, especially since he could feel the water already beginning to leak through. But, he was a vampire, so the cold had no effect on him.
There, just beyond the treeline he could see the spot he desired. A patch right next to both the water and the trees. Perfect place to set up. His only problem would be lights, and he certainly couldn't just run an extension cord from the manor to here. That would be rather ridiculous. But! Magic could fix that in no problem. With just a small little murmur, Kieran could have all those lights shining bright, just as if they were plugged in. The brunette let the bags drop, each leaving indentations into the fresh snow before he shuffled around, glancing at the area. It was decent enough, things could easily be places. With a wide grin on his face, Kieran sprinted back to the car to grab the remaining set of boxes. With those in hand, and the Lambo locked, Kieran resumed his trot back down to the area and began to unpack. Each decoration and light were sorted into their according piles. It would just make things plenty easier when it came to setting up. Which was his next part. He was thankful that he started this early in the night, cause this would take quite a bit of time.
Now that everything was sorted, Kieran went to work. He placed strands of lights around each individual tree's trunk and up in the foliage - starting from the tops of each Evergreen, Maple, and whatever other various sorts there were, down to the last little branch. They weren't colored lights, cause that would just seem to tacky to him. They were simple, white ones. (Kind of like this. Minus old people.) A few hours later, and each surrounding tree was done, he went to work, lacing little red bows to small little trunks and branches, scattered out so there was enough, but it didn't look too overdone. Hopefully they'd all enjoy this. Kieran chewed on his lower lip as he went to sorting over the boxes. Those cute, fake little reindeer were put up next. Placed along the path, just at the opening leading into the small coveted area. His nose scrunched up after he examined it. This didn't look right, so Kieran murmured a few words, and before him were living reindeer. "Much better," he cooed to himself. The male's lips quirked up into a small smile and he moved to pet over the nose of one. "You need a little red nose." He tapped the black snout, which instantly turned to a shade of red. "Rudolf and his gang." Certainly pleased with himself, he moved to escort the deer off the path. They would look funny just standing there scattered out like squatting ducks along the path.
Candles would have suited the path better, so Kieran crunched his way through the snow and dug through whatever other things he'd brought. Hopefully he had some, and enough to actually line the -entire- pathway, not just a few feet. None. He dusted his hands over his t-shirt, eyes closing as he tried to recall one of those previous spell's he'd read about. "What the hell was it." He chewed over his lower lip in thought, hand scrubbing through his hair. He'd try something else since he couldn't quite remember what it was. Eyes closed."Ón anseo chun ann, a ligean ar na coinnle dearg a leagan, scaipthe ar fud an sneachta ar an lá foirfe."(From here to there, let these red candles lay, scattered across the snow for the perfect day.) When he opened his eyes, the path was lined, each two feet apart with small decorative red candles. The male hopped excitedly in one spot and clapped his hands. "See that deers? I'm just too good."
Kieran stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked back over towards the pile of goodies. After a moment of rummaging through, he spotted blue and silver tree ornaments. How could he have forgotten about those? Well, anyone probably could have if they were excited about decorating and got caught up in it. Should he actually go out and get a tree? Or just use a fake one he'd brought just in case? Decisions, Decisions. A real tree would be the best, So Kieran set out to look for a small one. Nothing terribly huge, since this place was already decorate enough. Plus Vampire or not, he wasn't about to carry and one-hundred pound tree or more back to the spot. And lookit that, he didn't even have to travel that far in the woods till he found the perfect one. Sure, it wasn't as little as he wanted it to be, but it was just to pretty to pass up. (Tree minus lights.)He set to work, sawing it down. Better then an axe any day, plus it gave a flat bottom. After is was finally sawed through, he dragged it back towards the location and let it lay on the ground for a bit. It was time to now make a rather deep hole in the ground.
He set to work, doing that, with nothing more then a small shovel he managed to conjur up. Almost everything he'd done so far was done by hand. He wasn't that lazy where he was going to use magic on every little thing. Besides, this was for Aida and the family. He wanted to put in an effort. It after-all was going to be his first Christmas with them. His first Christmas with out Tyson and Kamau to boot. His lips set into a thin line as he worked on the hole. Happy, that the hole was deep enough to consume the three-fourths of the trunk, he skipped over to grasp the thing and dragged it over to the hole. Kieran's fingers curled around the small trunk as he lifted the tree up and pressed it down into the earth, making sure that it was snug fitting and that no wind would topple the plant over. His hands fluttered over each limb making sure none were broken and that each was perfect.
Decorating the tree would be more fun if he actually had another person with him, but he certainly couldn't have someone come here and help when this was supposed to be a suprise for everyone, so he managed to do it himself. Garland, bulbs, and a star to top it off. Kieran heaved a sigh of unneeded breath once the task was complete. It was well enough for now. Actually, it was more then presentable. Except for the fire, but when the day came, he would make sure to add that then. But for now, he needed to relax and take a break. This place almost looked like something from the movies, though he was sure no movie could ever out-due him. With A final glance around to make sure everything was alright, Kieran then shuffled off to his car and drove away.
